news: The Dablam broke off again reducing it to half its size on
Oct.20th. More avalanches as a result and teams pulling out. Tim
made this prediction last year and this is why we moved. It isn't
looking good over there.

CHINESE
CLOSING EVEREST NORTH SIDE: MT. EVEREST North
Side expeditions are being told Everest is closed till after May 10. Unfortunate for
some expeditions to have this news dropped on them one week prior to the
onset of the climbing season. It was not really an unexpected
announcement. To us it was just never clear what their intentions were.
Last year they suggested they might and then promised not to, and now
this. They are currently pressuring Nepal to also close the south side
to make sure no one stands on top of Everest during their torch Olympic
torch relay with a sign saying "Free Tibet" More

The
highest mountain in the Americas and one of the world's 7 summits.
The summit is just 12 kilometers from
the Chilean border. This expedition begins and ends in the City of
Mendoza, Argentina. The city of Mendoza is a charming town with pleasant
wide avenues, boulevards and parks. It is also the wine capital of
Argentina and February is wine festival time. Say no more. We are
having fun! - Tim and Becky.....more..

AMA DABLAM-moving
on over! Global
warming is to not be taken lightly when playing in the mountains. Taking
risks that we feel we have little control over is not what Peak Freaks
is about. We are moving our Everest training climb to another
Himalayan peak. We like it, you will like
it, our sherpas and their families like it and your family will
too. We have a 100% safety record and we intend to keep it that way. To
read Tim's assessment on the need for change- read
