Mess found at Pumori BC while we were there this year. It has your name on it so we know who you are and we have pictures too! You may want to consider reimbursing us for our expenses to clean it up, carry it out and disposal fees.

PUMORI- Summit aborted!! too much snow up high. Death on Ama Dablam . Teams are climbing via an alternative route. Read Tim's assessment of the detioration of Ama Dablam provided last year.

PUMORI- SUMMIT PUSH TOMORROW!!!- Oct. 24, 2008 Nepal Time and extreme cold temperates increasing.

HALF OF THE DABLAM HAS BROKEN OFF AMA DABLAM: Other news: The Dablam broke off again reducing it to half its size on Oct.20th. More avalanches as a result and teams pulling out. Tim made this prediction last year and this is why we moved. It isn't looking good over there.

CHINESE CLOSING EVEREST NORTH SIDEMT. EVEREST North Side expeditions are being told Everest is closed  till after May 10. Unfortunate for some expeditions to have this news dropped on them one week prior to the onset of the climbing season.  It was not really an unexpected announcement. To us it was  just never clear what their intentions were. Last year they suggested they might and then promised not to, and now this. They are currently pressuring Nepal to also close the south side to make sure no one stands on top of Everest during their torch Olympic torch relay with a sign saying "Free Tibet"  More here...

ACONCAGUA:  Next expedition:  Feb. 6, 2009 - Details

The highest mountain in the Americas and one of the world's 7 summits.

The summit is just 12 kilometers from the Chilean border. This expedition begins and ends in the City of Mendoza, Argentina. The city of Mendoza is a charming town with pleasant wide avenues, boulevards and parks. It is also the wine capital of Argentina and February is wine festival time. Say no more.  We are having fun! - Tim and Becky.....more..

Peak Freak climbers will have the best on Everest this spring by using the new TOPOUT masks. It is our intentions to offer our team members only the best that there is.  For more information the developments of this new technology please read more here.  Breath and move faster and more efficiently on the mountain, tried and tested to be the best!. AMA DABLAM -moving on over!  Global warming is to not be taken lightly when playing in the mountains. Taking risks that we feel we have little control over is not what Peak Freaks is about. We are moving our Everest training climb to another Himalayan peak.  We like it, you will like it, our sherpas and their families like it and your family will too. We have a 100% safety record and we intend to keep it that way. To read Tim's assessment on the need for change- read here:

Aldas Baltitus from Lithuania Everest North "summit success" May 15, 2007. ``Thanks TIm, looks like the Everest training climb really paid off`

  • Eating for Everest:  Staying Nourished At Altitude

  • Mountaineering while at high altitude is an immense physical and emotional challenge.  Mountain experiences can be strengthened by strong physical training, acclimatization to altitude, emotional preparedness, and careful choice of food and beverages during the months of pre-climb training and while at altitude.  Not only will food and fluids support your training program, but nutritious choices will support muscle repair and recovery following your ascent. Including a special section to present your questions to "Ask The Dietitian" valuable nutrition information for Everest climbers.
