INTRODUCTION:
This
course is structured according to the criteria by which ski guide
candidates are assessed. In conjunction with training an experience it
provides a tool kit by which to solve problems encountered in ski guiding.
The profession of guiding involves decision making and application of
techniques in circumstances where the number of variables and combination
of factors produce an infinite number of potential scenarios. There are
seldom “right” or “wrong” answers in guiding. Participants
must be prepared to modify techniques, change approach, and make judgments
based on what is required, to the best of their knowledge, at a given time
and place. This course is designed to help with this and more.
