MT. LHOTSE EXPEDITION    (8516m)    Nepal   - 55-days

Lhotse is the fourth highest mountain in the world. Lhotse to the south of the worlds highest peak is a part of Everest massif. By virtue of it being 3km south of Mount Everest, from which the South Col separates it, it is considered as an independent mountain. It was first climbed by F. Luchsinger & E. Reiss in 1956. An impressive ring of three peaks makes up the Lhotse massif: Lhotse East or Middle, Lhotse east or middle, Lhotse & Lhotse Shar. The South Face of Lhotse is one of the largest mountain faces in the world.

THE ROUTE-  Following the same logistics and camps to Camp 3 as the Everest South Ridge climb, we attempt to climb via the normal route to the tallest peak of the Lhotse massif.

BASE CAMP-  You utilize the same camp and infrastructure starting at the base of the Khumbu Glacier as our Everest expedition uses.  Other camps are Camp 2 and Camp 3 and then you split off from there to a Lhotse Camp 4 then on to the summit.

WHY PEAK FREAKS?

  • We are a owner operated 8000m Expedition company led by high altitude mountain guide Tim Rippel and his wife Becky. We are small but our success is big. To help our expedition participants reach their individual goals safely while enjoying an intimate mountain experience, we keep it that way! Whether it be Heli Skiing in Canada or climbing the tallest mountains in the world you can rest assured you are in experienced and skilled hands.

  • During the course of 18  years in operation we are proud to say that we have a flawless client care record. We have never lost a client in any of our extreme activities.

  • We are different from many operators today. The people you talk to when planning your expedition are the same people working with you on the mountain. Your expedition leader climbs alongside you on the mountain and not leading by radio from base camp or imported leaders or from an office in another country. As a mountain rescue professional, your safety is always Tim's priority.
  • We also believe that your comfort during the expedition is as important. We invest in making your lengthily stay away from home comfortable and nourishing.  We know that you won't find a better facility anywhere on the mountain than Peak Freak's base camps. A place where every detail is carefully considered to help you endure the world's most hostile and highest environment. Maintaining good health and in turn attitude, is an extremely important factor in the success of any expedition.
  • Our ability to offer first class small scale expeditions at an affordable price.
  • Our sherpa client ratio is very high. Sometimes 2 to 1 depending on our climbers abilities. We don't cut corners on man power. We invest in the people who play a major factor in your success.
  • GREEN THEME- Our care in doing our part to protect the planet and offer you the best!

LEADERSHIP - Tim Rippel and our team of sherpas!
